ED THOMAS

Born in Salinas, CA, Ed Thomas is from the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Tribe. Ed grew up in boarding schools and finished his high school career in 1973 at Flandreau Indian School ~ Flandreau, SD.

In 1974 he had the opportunity to work with pipestone. "This is where I found my God-given talent to work with my hands. In 1991 I had the opportunity to work with a stone called alabaster and many of my sculptures are created from this stone."
