Shelly Hearne
Colorado artist Shelly Hearne has been working professionally for more than a decade. Although she is self-taught, her training in architecture and interior design has had a significant impact on her work.
Through experimentation with many mediums, Shelly has developed a very eclectic style. She often uses texture such as stucco or sand with acrylics. These are applied to paper or canvas, and then with the end of a paintbrush, the designs are carved into the textured surface. After drying, layers of color are applied until she reaches the desired effect.
