Wayne Salge

Wayne Salge prefers cast bronze as the best medium to execute his abstracted human and animal figures in his signature style. He is able to employ classic design elements of line, space, texture and especially color provided by intricate chemical patinas to achieve his contemporary vision. Salge shapes and carves his original pieces in clay or wax, and then follows each sculpture through the art foundry process located in northeastern Colorado near his home and studio.

His strong foundation in the arts includes a lengthy career in graphic design and illustration plus college classes in sculpture, painting, and art history, as well as workshops in bronze casting and stone carving. Salge is an elected member of the National Sculpture Society. His body of work numbers over 100 pieces and his sculptures range in height from 5 inches to 9 feet and are exhibited in juried and invitational shows, galleries and public indoor and outdoor spaces nationwide.
